It is estimated that in excess of 4.9 million OEM toner and inkjet cartridges are manufactured every year. This equates to the creation of almost a thousand tons of pollution if they are continually allowed to end up in Landfills. We all feel that this is unnecessary additional pollution that can enter our waste stream every single day. To make matters worse every OEM cartridge requires about 300 fluid ounces of oil in its' manufacture, this is equivalent to almost 400 million gallons of oil to manufacture toner and inkjet cartridges every year. Therefore those cartridges must be diverted away from landfills.
It is well documented that toner cartridges are also incinerated, melted or dissolved using often, very hazardous and potentially dangerous chemicals in an uncontrolled manner, in order to divide component materials for extraction of certain residual metallic materials. These practices cause contamination of the soil, the air we breathe and surface water and is known to have been the cause of many birth defects in children born in and around such areas where these practices have occurred (without any regard for the environment).
Tonersmart Branded Imaging Supplies have been manufactured environmentally friendly. Due to their manufacture processes, Tonersmart conserves natural resources by reusing certain non-wearing plastic shells and metallic components from spent OEM cartridges.
Tonersmart is proud in the knowledge that each and every Tonersmart Cartridge manufactured, complies with its very strict environmental policies. All surplus, metals, plastics, paper and cardboard are recycled into everyday consumer items.
We always encourage, the recycling of your spent and/or surplus imaging supplies. In with regard to the manufacture of our cartridges an ISO 14001 accreditation has been achieved, further exemplifying Tonersmart of their current and future commitment to the environment.
